Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making this website usable by every patient, family member and visitor — including people using screen readers, keyboards or magnification.
Designed to be used by everyone
Pumwani Maternity, Child & Referral Hospital aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Last reviewed: 6 October 2026.
What we have done
The website is built with semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate it, text that can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content, colour combinations chosen for readable contrast, and forms with proper labels, error messages and keyboard support.
Language and clarity
Every page is available in English and Kiswahili through the language switch in the header, and we write in plain language, avoiding clinical jargon wherever a simpler word will do.
Motion and interaction
Animations are subtle and respect the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system. Nothing on this site depends on hovering, dragging or precise pointing, and every interactive control can be reached with the Tab key.
Documents and diagrams
The organizational chart is published both as a drawn diagram with real text and as downloadable PDF and PNG images. If a document is not readable with your software, contact us and we will provide the information in another format.
